Computer Controlled Torsional Vibration Unit

Description of Computer Controlled Torsional Vibration Unit:- The Computer Controlled Torsional Vibration Unit is an unit designed to study the torsional vibration, the torsional stiffness and  the behaviour of a torsional vibration system with two and three torsional weight vibrator. To facilitate the theoretical comprehension, the exercises are made with a metal torsion test bar, the main element of the unit. Vibrations are transmitted into the torsion bar by means of an electrical motor, which speed is computer controlled. The bar is supported  by the base with movable pillars. An adjustable damper can influence in the vibrations. Shaft encoders on the chucks provide the amplitude of vibration as an electrical  signal. Rigid weight discs, of several diameters and inertia, and pivoting bearings can be located at unlimited positions along the bar. Weight  discs can be fixed to the bar with the aid of chucks and flanges; this way, it is possible to assemble torsional vibration systems with one, two  or three weights.
